Focusing on Job Creation, Economic Prosperity and the Role of
American Latinos in the Changing Economy
NEW YORK, NY – Today, the New America Alliance (NAA), an organization of the most influential Latino business leaders committed to leading the process of Latino empowerment and wealth-building, launches its three-day 11th Annual Wall Street Summit, returning to the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City.

Campos, former U.S. Securities & Exchange Commissioner, Partner, Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP and NAA Inc Chair of the Board. “The NAA welcomes collaboration from all sectors to ensure that the American Latino community seizes new opportunities to spur job growth and build wealth while increasing our political participation and educational attainment.”
The Summit will bring Latino businesses together with key stakeholders in government and Corporate America featuring substantive, in-depth discussions between CEOs, entrepreneurs, top business leaders, legislators, high-ranking administration officials and other thought-leaders. The Summit will also mark the NAA’s 11th anniversary as an advocate addressing critical issues facing the American Latino business community such as access to corporate and pension fund boards, investment in the Latino market by major institutional investors, and investment in education and mentoring for emerging American Latino leaders and entrepreneurs.
“Each year, the Summit celebrates the unique strength and character of the American Latino community and it is an opportunity to identify the path for further advancement,” stated Maria del Pilar Avila, CEO of the Alliance. “The Summit is our time to celebrate our successes as we also seek to overcome the challenges before us, for the advancement of all Americans.”
Summit participants will examine the American Latino’s contribution in returning the U.S. economy to prosperity around the theme, “Restoring Economic Growth, Job Creation and Prosperity in our Nation”. The Summit will feature such luminaries as Jaime Dimon, CEO & Chairman of JPMorgan Chase & Co.; The Honorable Carlos Gutierrez, 35th U.S. Secretary of Commerce and Citigroup’s Vice Chairman of Institutional Clients Group; The Honorable John C. Liu, New York City Comptroller; Cesar Conde, President, Univision Networks; Solomon "Sol" Trujillo, Principal, Trujillo Group LLC; and Arianna Huffington, President & Editor-in-Chief, Huffington Post Media Group. The event will also include a fireside chat with U.S. Securities & Exchange Commissioner Luis A. Aguilar and NAA Inc. Chair of the Board and former SEC Commissioner Roel C. Campos.
The Summit will kick off with the Alliance recognizing Jamie Dimon and JPMorgan Chase & Co. with the Distinguished Service Award for Advancing American Latinos and American Business during the Opening Luncheon. The NAA will also recognize the extraordinary leadership of The Honorable Robert Menendez, United States Senator, for his contribution to the Latino community and our nation with the presentation of the NAA Legislative Leadership Award at the Thursday Luncheon. The Summit will also feature a posthumous tribute to The Honorable Jack Kemp, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, presented to his son, Jimmy Kemp, President of the Jack Kemp Foundation at the Wednesday Opening Dinner.
Additional sessions will include discussions on investment opportunities in education, adding investment management to corporate supplier diversity efforts, diversity on corporate boards of directors, and the higher participation of Latino financial services firms in the institutional investor space.
